How to Download Instagram Reels as MP4

Start with the individual Reel link

Open the Reel, use its Share menu and copy its link. The address should point to a Reel, for example instagram.com/reel/…/. A profile URL, Story or photo-post link is not the same input.

YTClip supports retrievable public Reels. You sign in to a YTClip account to manage your download allowance; we do not request your Instagram password. Private-account videos and Reels that require an Instagram login cannot be retrieved this way. Use your own content or a video you have permission to save.

Save an Instagram Reel in four steps

1. Open Download Instagram Reel. Use your normal browser on your phone or computer.
2. Paste the copied Reel link. Select Prepare download and sign in to YTClip if needed. A free account does not require a payment card.
3. Wait for preparation. YTClip retrieves the available source and prepares an MP4 within your plan’s limits. Keep the page open to see its status.
4. Download and check the MP4. Select Download MP4 when ready, then open the local file and listen to the audio. Save it before the ten-minute download window ends.

On a phone, check Files or Downloads if the video does not appear in your photo library. If an Instagram in-app browser prevents saving, open the page in Safari or Chrome and sign in to the same YTClip account.

Check the result before using it

Watch the beginning and end, check that speech is audible, and confirm that important text remains visible. An MP4 keeps the picture and audio available from the source; it cannot restore a missing soundtrack or detail lost in an earlier upload.

YTClip does not promise to remove watermarks, creator attribution or captions already embedded in the picture. If you made the Reel, the original recording is usually the best starting point for a fresh edit. Keep that original alongside your final export.

How many Reels can you download?

Free includes two Instagram Reel downloads per rolling 30 days. Your two TikTok and two YouTube downloads are separate. Free supports files up to ten minutes, 100 MB and 720p when the source offers it.

Pro offers 30 downloads shared across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram per rolling 30 days, up to 30 minutes, 250 MB and 1080p when available. Choose it when you regularly need more downloads or want the private-upload editing tools. Compare the plans and included features.

Preparing a full-video download uses no AI minutes or clip exports. A failed preparation does not count toward the download allowance; a prepared file does, even after expiry. Files are deleted ten minutes after preparation, so download them to your own device rather than bookmarking the temporary file link.

Why can a public Reel fail?

A Reel visible in your Instagram app may still require a login or be blocked from automated retrieval. Deleted posts, regional restrictions and temporary platform limits can also cause failures. Check the link and the message on the downloader page before trying again later.

For your own unavailable or private Reel, use the original MP4, MOV or WebM file with Pro’s Upload your video option. You do not have to make the original public to edit it.

Make the next version useful

For a product Reel, create a shorter version focused on one benefit. For a spoken answer, cut the pause at the start and add readable captions. Preview a vertical crop before rendering so faces, demonstrations and text stay in frame.
