Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how YTClip ("YTClip", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use ytclip.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you continue with Google or Apple, we receive the account details that provider shares, such as your name, email address, provider account identifier, and profile picture. If you use an email magic link, we use the email address you provide to create or access your account.
- Clip data. The YouTube links, start/end timestamps, and export settings you submit, plus metadata about the clips you create (title, time range, format) so we can show your history. Before sign-in, your browser may save an unfinished clip draft locally for up to 24 hours so it survives the authentication handoff.
- Payment information. Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe and iOS subscriptions are processed by Apple. We do not store your full card details; the applicable payment provider handles payment data under its own terms.
- Usage analytics. We use Plausible Analytics for aggregate, cookieless analytics. We also assign the browser a random first-party visitor identifier so we can count unique landing visitors and understand whether they later create a YTClip account. The identifier contains no name, email address, or advertising identifier and is not used to track you across other sites.
- Technical data. A session cookie to keep you signed in, the first-party visitor identifier described above, and limited technical information (such as IP address) used to operate, measure, and protect the Service.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service — authenticate you, process your clips, and deliver downloads.
- To manage subscriptions and billing.
- To maintain your saved clip history.
- To protect the Service against abuse, fraud, and excessive use.
- To understand aggregate usage and improve the product.
Cookies
We use an essential session cookie to keep you signed in and a first-party, pseudonymous visitor cookie, which expires after 30 days, to measure unique landing visits and signup conversion. An unfinished clip draft may be kept in local browser storage for up to 24 hours. Plausible does not use cookies. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Third‑party services
We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Service, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google and Apple — sign‑in / authentication.
- Stripe and Apple — web and App Store payment processing.
- Plausible — privacy‑friendly analytics.
- YouTube — embedded video previews. Loading or playing a preview may allow YouTube to receive technical information under its own privacy policy.
- Email delivery providers — sending requested sign-in links and service messages.
- Cloud hosting and storage providers — to run the Service, temporarily process source files, and store generated clips for your clip library.
Data retention
We keep your account information, clip history, and generated clip files while your account is active so your completed downloads remain available in your clip library. Source video files used during processing are temporary and are removed after a clip completes or reaches a terminal failure. Generated files may also be removed under our storage lifecycle policy. The pseudonymous visitor identifier is removed from conversion records after no more than 120 days. Deleting your account removes your account, saved clip records, and stored clips; limited de-identified operational records and records required for billing, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute handling may be retained where necessary. You may also request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, contact us at the address below.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
