How to Download YouTube Clips on Android
Found a moment in a YouTube video you want to keep? You can clip it and save it straight to your Android phone using nothing but Chrome — no app to install, no Play Store download. This guide walks you through how to download a YouTube clip on Android in a few quick taps.
What you'll need
- The link to the YouTube video you want to clip.
- The start and end time of the moment you want (for example, 1:30 to 2:05).
- Chrome — or any browser — on your Android phone. There's nothing to install.
Download a YouTube clip on Android in 5 steps
The whole process runs in your browser with this YouTube clip downloader, so it works the same on a Samsung Galaxy, a Pixel, or any other Android phone. You only download the segment you choose — never the entire video.
- Copy the YouTube link. In the YouTube app, tap Share under the video, then tap Copy link. (You can also copy the URL from the address bar if you're watching in a browser.)
- Open YTClip in Chrome. Open the tool to download a YouTube clip in Chrome or your preferred browser on your phone.
- Paste the link. Long-press the input field, tap Paste, and a preview of the video loads so you can find the exact moment.
-
Set your start and end time. Choose the in and out points for the moment
you want, or type the times directly (for example
1:30and2:05). - Tap Create clip, then download. YTClip renders just that segment and hands you a clean MP4 with audio. The file lands in your Downloads folder (open it in the Files or My Files app), and because it's a video it also appears in your Gallery.

After the download finishes, your clip lives in your phone's Downloads folder. The quickest way to find it is to open the Files app (called My Files on Samsung devices) and tap Downloads. Since YTClip saves an MP4, your phone also indexes it as a video — so it shows up in your Gallery or Photos app next to everything else you've recorded. From there you can play it, trim it further, or share it to any app in one tap.
Tips
- Keep it short for sharing. A tight 10–30 second clip is far easier to send in a message or post than a long one — set just the moment that matters.
- Go vertical for Shorts, Reels, and TikTok. On Pro you can crop to a vertical 9:16 frame so your clip fills the screen on mobile feeds instead of sitting in a small letterboxed window.
- Want only the sound? Choose the MP3 format before downloading to save just the audio — handy for music, podcasts, or a quote you want to reuse.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an app to download YouTube clips on Android?
No. YTClip works entirely in Chrome or any other browser on your Android phone. There's nothing to install from the Play Store — you just need a YouTube link and a browser.
Where do downloaded clips save on Android?
Clips save to your Downloads folder, which you can open in the Files or My Files app. Because they're video files, they also show up in your Gallery alongside your other videos.
Can I save just the audio from a YouTube video?
Yes. Choose the MP3 format before you download and YTClip saves only the audio from the segment you selected, instead of a video file.
